Onyx Show Grit in Tough Trinity/Springs Opener vs Dazzle FC

Onyx Team faced a tough test away to Dazzle FC in their Trinity Springs 26 opener.

The boys started brightly and it was Ayan who gave Onyx the perfect start with the opening goal of the game. Dazzle FC responded quickly to equalise, and then scored three goals in quick succession to take control before halftime, making it 4-1 at the break.

The second half went downhill as Onyx struggled to get back into the game. An early goal after the restart extended Dazzle’s lead, and they added three during the cause of the half to close out the game 8-1.

Despite the scoreline, Onyx kept working and will take valuable lessons from the outing.

“We lacked structure and discipline from the first minute. Being the first match it is expected. The players are in their intermediate learning phase so these things are expected. Ayaan was everywhere throughout the match and he got the opening goal, but we lost our heads and it cost us dearly. Above all it was a good outing. We have the opportunity to learn and grow from our mistakes. This loss gave us an awakening and we would know what to focus on going into future games.”
